Reporting directly to the Program Director, the Program Coordinator has the overall operational responsibility to ensure regulatory compliance and agency standards and practices are met and maintained.
GENERAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensures that service delivery and operations meet both contractual commitments, regulatory standards set forth by OPWDD and the needs of residence in providing a safe, secure, supportive program for the benefit of all.
- Maintains steady and effective communication with the Program Directors, residents, staff, advocates, day program providers as well as the executive team.
- Ensures that standard operating procedures are followed by all staff, and that all staff receives support and supervision appropriate to their needs.
- Provides on-call coverage to address needs on a twenty-four-hour basis.
- Ensures a stable residential program with oversight of program planning, structural organization, staffing, and ensures compliance with all policies, procedures and regulations.
- Provides direct supervision and oversight of DSP staff and residential management staff
- Involved in recruiting, interviewing and hiring of staff as well as orients, supervises and evaluates staff.
- Monitors program resident’s entitlement benefits in conjunction with the Benefit Specialist
- Prepares reports as required
- Establishes relationships with outside providers, OPWDD partners as well as residents and their family or involved parties
- Ensures proper handling and reporting of critical incidents.
- Establishes and promotes inter-agency and community relations.
- Oversees the development and implementation of resident’s recovery plans, goals and objectives
- Functions as QIDP when applicable
- Participates in OPWDD DQI survey and recertification process
- Leads, supervises and coaches staff on an ongoing basis as well as ensures evaluations are maintained on an annual basis
- Complies with all regulatory standards set forth by OPWDD, DOH, Medicaid and Mental Hygiene Laws
- Conducts regular visits to all locations to assess the physical plant and make observation of staff interactions and overall residential program
- Conduct audits of records and resident funds
- Reviews, and approves all monthly billing, ensures staff is trained and that all billing is completed on a timely basis and in accordance with agency policy and procedure
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in the field of Human Services with a minimum of five (5) years’ experience working in an IDD residential program in a supervisor/management position OR Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in the field of Human Services and ten (10) years’ experience working in an IDD residential program in a supervisor/management position
- Valid New York State Driver’s License.
