Job Information

GENERAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide on-going supervision and necessary training and feedback to DSP’s to promote effective job performance and skilled care and treatment of the residents.
  • Serve as an expert and model in the understanding of each resident’s needs and special alerts, and the implementation of their behavior plan.
  • Participates in the development of individual program plans and CFA’s, Res. Hab plans/IPOPs.
  • Ensure that staff is continually engaging the residents in structured learning activities and active treatment, in accordance with their individual program planning and ITT recommendations.
  • Ensure that the house and grounds are clean and well maintained, and that all vehicles and property are in safe and working order.
  • Ensure staffing schedules are complete. Ensure that there is an adequate number of trained staff available on each shift.
  • Coordinate, schedule and participate in in-services and staff meetings on a regular basis and other meetings upon request.Ensure that fire safety and emergency procedures are carried out in compliance with policy and procedures.
  • Oversee the implementation of fire drills and ensures all required documentation is completed.
  • Provide Direct support services and treatment as necessary, including the administration of medication in accordance with AMAP guidelines and agency policy.
  • Serve as an ITT member and advocate for all individuals served.
  • Provide and maintain resident banking system at the residence.
  • .Maintain on-going contact with day programs and other providers of care and treatment to the residents.
  • Complete ATF’s, 147s and incident follow up as necessary and in accordance with agency policies and IRC recommendations as well as follows the agency’s Incident Management Policies.
  • Communicate relevant information regarding needs of the residents and house administration as requested.
  • Respond to emergencies, crises, and unforeseen circumstances in a responsible and conscientious manner, consulting with agency administration as necessary and appropriate.
  • Be available on an on-call basis as needed for consultation and relief.
  • Responsible for the accuracy and submission of the billing sheets.
  • Lead the direct support staff at the residence in workforce transformation.
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School diploma with at least two years’ prior experience in the field working with individuals with developmental disabilities. College Degree Preferred
  • Valid New York State Driver’s License
  • Must be flexible to work at each residence in our MH Program
